On September 10, 2019, the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) released PhP2.7 billion to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the implementation of the CHED-Tulong Dunong Program (CHED-TDP).

The CHED-TDP is intended for the 175,260 new grantees who are enrolled or will enroll in any curriculum year level in CHED-recognized programs of Private Higher Education Institutions, or State Universities and Colleges/Local Universities and Colleges with Certificate of Program Compliance.

A student-grantee shall be entitled to Fifteen Thousand Pesos (PhP15,000.00) financial assistance per academic year, which may be used to support the cost of higher education expenses (i.e., educational and cost of living allowance).
