Following the success of last year’s Philippine Economic Briefings (PEB) in Singapore and New York, the country’s Economic Team will once again engage with business leaders, bankers, and investors, this time in Europe from January 23 to 27.
The Europe leg of PEB will cover Frankfurt, Germany and London, United Kingdom—cities known as centers of trade and finance in the region.
Finance Secretary Benjamin Diokno will deliver the keynote message, while Budget Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman is expected to present the priority expenditures in the FY 2023 National Budget to investors and how they will play out in the achievement of the objectives outlined in the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028.
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Felipe Medalla and Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan will also join the panel discussions on the country’s economic performance and outlook.
Moreover, financial literacy sessions with Filipino communities, media interviews, and engagements with credit rating agencies including Moody’s Analytics and Fitch Ratings are also organized on the sidelines of the economic briefings.
The PEB Europe is organized by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in partnership with the British Embassy in the Philippines, Philippine Embassies in Europe, and banks such as HSBC, UBS, Deutsche Bank, and Morgan Stanley, among others. The PEB serves as an avenue for the country’s economic managers to discuss with market leaders potential investments and opportunities in the Philippines.
Tune in to the Facebook page of DBM Philippines (https://www.facebook.com/DBMgovph) for the livestream of PEB Frankfurt on January 23, Monday, 4 PM Manila time, and PEB London on January 26, Thursday, 5 PM Manila time.
