National Filipino Family Week is regarded as one of the most significant events in the country, transcending mere celebration to become a platform for reinforcing the essence of family values, solidarity and unity.

A day of showing gratitude to community pillars

In this year’s annual celebration, DBM Trese Family visited the Por Cristo Foundation Incorporated (Home for the Abandoned Elderly) at Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.

Goods such as toiletries, alcohol, air sprays, etc. were donated to the organization for the daily use of the elderly.

Surprisingly, this simple visit quickly turned into a show as our Lolos and Lolas showcased their dance moves and singing talents. A living testament that age is just a number, talents and hearts never grow old.

A day of sharing hope

Together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Caraga as the committee head of the Regional Inter-Agency Committee on Filipino Family, Ms. Desiree G. Ruben represented the Regional Office in an activity dubbed as “Adopt-A-Family” conducted last September 27, 2023.

Street families and children were given a set of basic commodities such as school supplies, clothes, kitchen utensils and medical kits sourced from pledges and donations from various government agencies.

A bundle of aid that brings a bundle of joy to our vulnerable families and children.

DBM Trese’s September ended with a blast as everyone participated in the week-long celebration of the 31^st National Filipino Family Week. It is a constant reminder that in a world where modern life often pulls us in different directions, we should cherish the bonds that truly matter, and celebrate the small moments that make life beautiful and the strength that comes from unity.
